We are seeking a certified CNC Lathe/ Mill Operator to join our team and help us continue delivering top-tier solutions to our customers.
Position Overview
The CNC Lathe/Mill Operator is responsible for the operation and maintenance of CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) lathes and mills, ensuring precise and efficient machining of components. This role involves executing repetitive operations while adhering to strict safety and quality standards. The operator will interpret technical drawings, follow work instructions, and collaborate with supervisors and set up personnel to achieve production goals.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation
- Operate CNC lathe and milling machines according to work instructions and job
specifications. - Load raw materials and unload finished parts while ensuring proper alignment and positioning.
- Monitor machine operations and adjust settings as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
Quality Control & Inspection:
- Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools
(micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.). - Verify part dimensions against blueprints and specifications.
- Identify and report any defects, deviations, or inconsistencies in production.
Program & Tool Adjustments:
- Adjust machine offsets as needed.
- Change worn-out tools and ensure proper tool alignment.
- Work with programmers and supervisors to troubleshoot minor program or tooling
issues.
Troubleshooting:
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or issues requiring technical support.
- Ensure machines remain in proper working condition to minimize downtime.
Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all safety procedures and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent hazards.
- Adhere to company policies and industry safety regulations.
Documentation & Communication:
- Record production data, inspection results, and any adjustments made during
operation. - Communicate with supervisors, set up person, and quality control personnel regarding
any concerns or improvements. - Follow work orders, and engineering drawings to ensure accurate production.
Essential Skills:
- Strong reading and writing skills for documenting production details.
- Basic mathematical proficiency for calculating measurements.
- Effective oral communication for coordinating with team members and supervisors.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team-oriented environment.
- Problem-solving skills for troubleshooting minor machine malfunctions.
- Good memory retention for recalling machining sequences and quality control
standards. - Ability to find and apply relevant information for machine operation and maintenance.
- Commitment to continuous learning and skill enhancement.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed indoors in a manufacturing environment.
- Requires standing for extended periods, frequent bending, lifting, and carrying.
- Some tasks may require greater physical effort.
- The work environment can be noisy and requires heightened safety awareness.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety devices must be used as required.
A standard 40-hour workweek with occasional overtime may be required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Understanding of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) principles.
- Experience in operating and setting up CNC lathes/mills for repetitive machining
operations. - Proficiency in verifying dimensions of machined parts using precise measuring
instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers).
